The Art & Reality Annual International Forum is an initiative of the Petr Konchalovsky Foundation
Petr Konchalovsky Foundation, the main objective of which is art education and promotion in Russian art development, initiated an annual forum to discuss the burning issues in the world of fine arts, its imaginative ideas, practices, institutions, social functioning patterns, experiments, including the most radical ones. The present interest in the Petr Konchalovsky creative work in a time perspective has convinced the Foundation organizers that modernity is unconceivable beyond a living tradition as well as a tradition is dead without a living, creative attitude towards it here and now.
In the contemporary cultural landscape panorama, when conventional forms and aspects of art coexist with completely new art practices, the priorities get diametrically split and often impervious to each other. Meanwhile, we affirm the possibility to work out mutually acceptable and clear criteria in the evaluation of both a whole process and individual events in arts.
Participating in the event
Russian and foreign artists, art historians, anthropologists, experts, critics, curators, gallery owners, dealers, patrons, marketing experts, representatives of museum, auction and exhibition organizations, as well as journalists and bloggers writing about art are invited to participate in the Forum. The forum will be attended by both leading experts whose names dominate in today's polyphony of opinions and creative youth.
We hope that such spectrum amplitude of participants taking part in an open and constructive dialogue will provide the greatest possible objectivity of conclusions on the present condition of the world art process.

Coordination of professional efforts, co-thinking of specialists representing various disciplines related to visual art practices, will provide for clarification in value orientations and achievements of the 21st century art, precise diagnostics of pain sites, and will assist in the search for connections with the real values of the centuries-long spiritual tradition of Russian and world culture.
